Reading Day

Worked on the kitchen cupboards again today but didn't get the drawers installed.  Hopefully, Wednesday.  Tomorrow is golf.

They're working on the building's plaster outside surfaces for the next few weeks.

They've finished the south wall, now working on our side.  Lots of noise as they chip away, then patch and paint.  Nice to see the building being maintained, but it promises to be a noisy few weeks.

Sister Judy has finished reading John Bolton's book.  If anyone else is bogged down on a library list let me know and we'll share it.

I've now started reading Mary Trump's book.  It's much better than Bolton's.  Here's a couple of her sentences: "Donald's ego has been and is a fragile and inadequate barrier between him and the real world, which, thanks to his father's money and power, he never had to negotiate by himself.  Donald has always needed to perpetuate the fiction my grandfather started that he is strong, smart and otherwise extraordinary, because facing the truth - that he is none of those things - is too terrifying for him to contemplate."

She talks about how her grandfather created the Donald monster.  But I think it goes back at least one more generation.  Her great-grandfather, Donald's grandfather Freidrich Drumpf, ran brothels in the Yukon during the gold rush.  He later tried to go back to Germany, but was not allowed to stay because he was a draft dodger.  Sound familiar?

Went looking for drawer pulls and visited two Home Hardware stores and Lowe's before finding something close to what we were looking for.  Was pleasantly surprised to see everyone obeying the mask bylaw.  All three stores had a person at the entrance to make sure the requirement was followed and as far as I could tell nobody was doing any complaining.
