Golf Season

To pick up on Kathryn's response yesterday:  her recounting was accurate except for Burt Reynolds.  Mom and I were exiting the Opryland Hotel, which is its own theme park, and heading for the Grand Old Opry for a show.  Four dudes were walking towards us when all of a sudden her knees turned to spaghetti.   "Alabama" she gasped.  They politely accepted her accolade and went inside.  This may very well have been the highlight of her later life.  Certainly made my day!

Braved the cold air and got more of the golf course cut today.  Looks like Saturday may be the official opening of Trillium Hill Golf and Country Club.
As with any posh private club there will be rules of course:

  • Health: social distancing will be mandatory.
  • Dress code:  clothing will be mandatory.
Golfers ignoring those rules will be ejected from the course.

Other rules are optional:
  • watch out for tractor ruts and rocks
  • free lifts, preferred lies (I didn't know that lies are preferred - fibs are obviously optional)
  • every shot may be teed up
  • scores will not be kept
  • bragging is allowed - with discretion
  • shopping is allowed
  • BYOB
  • such other rules as the owner dreams up
Watch for further announcements.

Isolation is depressing. Fresh air is good.   Manhattans are better.  Stay well.
