We take one more picture before we leave the Hollywood Walk of Fame...............................................
.....................................to find a $63. parking ticket on the windshield. The sign said "2 hour parking - no parking Wednesday from 12 to 3 for street cleaning". Apparently, a block away a sign pointed out that you needed a permit.
Our next stop was Rodeo Drive, which is a different kind of theme park!
We had lunch on Rodeo Drive, just so we could say we did.
For $122.15 (including "service charge") you too could enjoy a grilled cheese sandwich, chicken sandwich, Caesar salad, kale salad, two glasses of wine and pop. At least we got free parking this time!
We headed to the coast, spending about two hours at an average of 20 miles per hour to travel north from Santa Monica.
We finally got relief by heading inland through the mountains, enjoying less traffic and nicer scenery, including wine country.
A couple of my friends don't think much of "rocks and trees", but I can tell you they're much better than pavement and cars!

The vineyards stretched for hundreds of acres.
And finally, a couple of interesting facts. According to what we hear, the temperatures back in the Niagara Peninsula are hotter than they are where we are right now - about 60 degrees now at 11 p.m. with highs in the upper 70's.
And, gas prices in California are probably higher than in Ontario when you factor in the exchange rate. We got gas as low as $2,99 a gallon in Las Vegas. Quite a change from today's price.
Tomorrow we visit Hearst Castle and head for the Monterey Peninsula.
