Day 12 - July 14 - City of the Stars.

We were picked up at our hotel just before 9 a.m. by VIP City Tours.  We had checked out first - they didn't have a room with two beds for tonight, so we will be moving into a suite - ahhhh.  But the internet should be better (it is).

While we were waiting for the bus to arrive, the ladies checked out the nail spa next door. - a destination for this afternoon.

This sign was on the sidewalk at the curb.  Keep the streets clean - they drain into the ocean.

Our first major stop was at Venice Beach.  The original 16 miles of canals is now down to one and a half.

Venice  Beach is also known for its murals.  Two local gangs were enlisted to create the murals and rumour has it that the first guy who put graffiti on one of them met a very sad end - no more defacing has occurred.

Next, a short visit to the beach itself.

We passed many landmarks, including the hotel in Beverly Hills where Pretty Woman was filmed.

Next major stop was the Farmers Market.

And lunch.

They were all pretty accomplished with their chop sticks.  Unfortunately, there was no chance to take a picture of me eating my sushi bacon cheeseburg with my chop sticks.

Then it was on to the highlight of the trip!  Grahman's Chinese Theatre with its hand prints and footprints, and the walk of the stars.
Someone the old folks knew.

And a name for the younger set.  Michael Jackson in case you can't read it.

The stars pay $3,500 to have their name honoured here.

Over two miles of sidewalk stars.  We explored about 200 yards of it.

We also saw the Hollywood sign.

And we bought stuff, including "selfie sticks".

And finally, a visit to Olvera Street, the Mexican influenced part of old town.

Time to return to our hotel and check out the room with the ocean view.

Then, they quickly disappeared for an hour or so.

Rmember the nail spa next door?  They tried to tell me this neon orange is really pink.

I think we hit a home run today!
