After yesterday's swim in the ocean, our intrepid tourists appear to need some recovery time. Late getting up and then:
We were too late for breakfast at the hotel so, after a 20 minute drive we had brunch at the San Diego Zoo,
And then got stamped.
First off, we took the bus tour of the zoo on a bus like this one.
Top deck, front row!
First, flamingos.
Then, elephants.
Including this guy who shyly gave himself a shower to cool off.
California Condors with their 10 foot wing span.
Mother and baby giraffe.
And, on it went.
The otters are always fun to watch and we happened to get there at feeding time so there was lots of action.
But one of the best exhibits turned out to be the tigers, one of whom went for a swim.
And the monkeys are always fun.
The lineup for the Pandas was extremely long, and the Polar Bears were not on display (working to rule?), but we saw lots. The San Diego Zoo lived up to its reputation.
After leaving the park we headed for Hermosa Beach. After checking in to our hotel, we had dinner on the beach at Hennessey's.
And enjoyed a Pacific Ocean sunset.
Tomorrow, a city tour.
