Lake Geneva

First off, a birthday greeting to Ron King and Al Addis who share this birth day.  All the best!

----------------------------------------------

Awoke to a beautiful, cloudless autumn day and headed to the local McDonald's for breakfast.  Felt sorry for those folks.  The lobby was closed due to lack of staff.  And the ones who were there were run off their feet.  A couple of errors, but understandable.

Then, every Interstate had construction going on.  Now we know where those workers have gone!

Along the way we stopped at a Rest Area and Mardi took these pictures.

An interesting sculpture, made from pieces of metal, rebar, barbed wire, chains and motorcycle chains.

We arrived at Lake Geneva and registered at 3 p.m.  Nice unit.

This is the first tee area on the Highlands course.

Our unit is to the left, just beyond the trees.

We have an 11:45 tee time for tomorrow.

--------------------------------------------

Headed into the town of Lake Geneva to look around and then watch the Blue Jays game.  Found Magpie's, a nice pub with lots of TVs and a friendly staff.  Unfortunately, it turns out that last night's game was called and the Blue Jays were given the victory,  and tonight's game was cancelled due to rain.  So there's a double header tomorrow - we'll miss the first game due to golf, should see at least some of the second game.

---------------------------------------------

On the way home, Mardi took these shots of Wild Turkeys and Sandhill Cranes.

Those Cranes will be heading to Florida soon.  Could be we'll be seeing these same ones down there.

----------------------------------------------

Life is good.  Keep smiling and stay well.
