The ground is still very wet, as you can see.
And, even ground that looks dry is not.
Since Haldimand clay is every bit as efficient at retaining water as Grimsby clay, we cancelled our golf today. Even if they had enough pull carts it would have taken an Ox to drag them through the mud (no smartass comments please).
Would have been a great weather day for golf, but it turns out it was just as good for gardening - if you don't mind wet feet!
The sod that I removed from around the trees today (four wagon loads) was relocated to this wet spot.
The planter at the other edge of the "pond" contains an Oak tree that an obliging squirrel planted under one of the Pines. We'll see if it survives the transplanting.
