Mount Dora

Today we visited Mount Dora which is a breathtaking 180 feet above sea level.

This town is somewhat similar to Niagara-On-The-Lake....it's sole raison d'etre seems to be tourism.

We hit the third and final day of their Jane Austen Fest.

Today's feature of this tribute to the famous author seemed to centre around period costumes.  Prizes were to be awarded.

And then we moved on.
The sign at the bottom says:
"If guns kill people
I guess cars drive drunk
Pencils misspell words
Forks make people fat"

Maybe being Republican makes people stupid!

Before we gave ourselves indigestion we headed to the "One Flight Up" restaurant for Quiche.

We then hiked through the waterfront park which is partially on boardwalk.  Wonderful weather, great company, a very nice day.

Your author was whipped at the end of the trip (probably too much sun) and needed a nap.

Tomorrow we drive a couple of hours south to Vero Beach.
