Circle B Bar Reserve - 2nd visit

We met Matt, Maureen, Jim and Monica at the Reserve, both arriving within five minutes of each other from opposite sides of the state.

Jo-Anne was on the other side of the camera.

Our first sighting (other than a ton of cackling crows) was a large brown snake, species undecided.

There were Whistling Ducks everywhere.  More than we have ever seen.

Lots of Anhinga, as usual.

And Cormorants.

There were signs that said "No Fishing", but these guys apparently can't read.

Now, there's a real mouthfull!

If you're not on shore where you can read the signs they don't apply to this fisherman trying to haul inTilapia (which is an introduced species).

A White Pelican was floating too far out for a good picture, but I captured a Brown Pelican flying by.

A couple of other bird pictures turned out OK.

Including this Spoonbill.

And these two flying.

Sometimes you need to appreciate the bigger scene.....

...before you zoom in on the bird in the middle.

This is certainly a beautiful place!

We had a couple of small animal sightings.

And, of course there were alligators.

It was a great day.  And after Mardi had taken over 15,000 steps it was over.  Jim will be downloading his camera when he goes home this coming weekend.  He has promised to send me a selection of his photos so I can show you what the proper equipment and skill can do.

On the way home we saw another interesting slogan on a truck.

After we got back to the resort I was tasked with determining what bird was nesting in the dead tree we can see from our unit.  Turns out it was an Osprey.

And so ends a special day.  Tomorrow we plan to visit Celebration and then have dinner at Sakura Asian Fusion (our previously planned visit there was scratched due to lack of energy).
