All three water ski runs were in action today.
The one we cross on #2, that runs alongside #3, had a slalom skier.
The parallel run had a young wake boarder.
And the run alongside #10 had a lady learning to do the jump.
First try didn't work out well.
But, the next two were just fine.
That was the good part of the day.
The temperature was around 30 C and the humidity was in the high 90 per cent range, with no breeze. And we were paired up with a couple of guys from Rochester, who:
- talked non-stop through our swings
- drove up the middle of the par 3
- took about ten practice swings each time before scuffing the ball
- were never ready to play their shots
- and seemed to go into pause mode when they weren't talking.
After two hours we had completed six holes and there were at least two holes open in front of us. We had let one couple play through and others were coming up fast.
After we finished nine, I begged off, claiming that the heat and humidity had taken too much out of me (not a lie). Mardi and I stopped for meatball subs and a beer at the clubhouse and then tried once again.
But, after playing number 10 and realizing that we probably still had well over two hours of heat, humidity and waiting in front of us we called it quits.
Mardi talked to John and we got rain checks for nine holes. What a day!!
Tomorrow calls for some rain so we'll figure out our plans after we check conditions in the morning.
