Our quest today was to try a new hiking destination. A long drive (past Mount Dora for those familiar), but a place to which we will return.
The springs start here at the swimming area. It is full of deep fissures from which the water bubbles up. The outflow moves the stream at about 5 mph.
You can see one of the fissures left centre of the following picture.
A hundred metres downstream you can rent canoes. That will be for next time.
Saw a man sit down here and then jump up when his wife read the sign. If you approach from the other way you're caught by surprise. Fortunately, the paint was dry.
We hiked about four miles. Mardi saw four deer, but they were not in camera range.
Sand Lake is a destination on one of the hikes.
A nice day - one we will repeat, there are many hiking options - but it's a crazy drive on I-4, which is nothing but a miles long construction site.
Either it's hot, or we're out of shape, or just getting old, but we don't seem to have much energy left for evening events. So we're staying put again tonight.
Tomorrow will be another golf day.
Looks like a beautiful spot. FYI... This comment was done on my iPad. It's been a while since retirement, however we had an error code for user problems like that experienced by Sven. It was an id10t error. Wait for it...
