Santee National

One of the rituals the ladies have been observing is a shot of "birdie juice" after each birdie.  Thanks to Rada I can include evidence of one such ceremony.  Wish the guys had thought of that!

Today we played Santee National.  Just a few water holes, but it was located in nasty places.  My partner, Lil, takes her turn at this water hole.

And John's partner Maureen did likewise.

Unfortunately for them, John and I struggled today.  He had a bad front nine and I had a bad back nine, so our teams were out of the running for the team championship.

The weather caught us today and we got soaked on the 16th and 17th holes.  But we all finished.  Could be more rain now and then in the forecast for the next three days.

For tomorrow we have been lucky enough to have the same partners for our alternate shot competition.  John and I hope they're good at recovering from the shots we put into the trees!

After golf we stopped at the Dollar Store for props for our planned theme night (both couples forgot to bring the stuff we had prepared at home).  So Bob and Doug McKenzie had to make a Canadian flag from plastic tablecloths while Rada and Mardi put together a true Canadian meal of peameal bacon, carrots, and baked potatoes.

We welcomed our hoser guests to the Great White North.

And served them horse dehoovers.

Crisp bacon coated with maple syrup (cleaned up before this picture was taken), smoked salmon, Canadian cheddar and grapes.

That's a pretty nice centrepiece eh?

And the meal was finished off with dessert - maple cookies and maple fudge (Hagersville recipe).

And we didn't turn on the TV to watch the American election until almost 10 p.m.!

Tomorrow we play the Lake Marion Golf Course.
