DAY TWENTY-EIGHT - July 22, 2017 - Victoria to Vancouver

We left the elegant By The Sea B & B.

With its view of the sea.

And headed for the iconic Empress Hotel in Victoria.

Where we dined on Charcuterie and Artisanal Cheeses with our tea and coffee.

The area around the harbour and the parliament buildings is beautiful......

and very active.
Not a virtuoso, but we donated anyway.

And, if you support the young, you should support the elderly as well.

Getting back to the car, we noticed a "wee" dent in the hood, which can be seen amid the bug splatters - probably dates back to the Top Of The World Highway.  It joins our two windshield chips as trophies of our journey.

Our trip from Schwartz Bay to Tsawassen was not as picturesque as past voyages, due to the weather.  It looks much better in the sun, and my all-time favourite was a ride made in the late evening as the sun set, and the sky was glorious shades of purple and mauve.

Our purpose for the trip today was to visit Mardi's friend Eric, and Jon whom we had never met.  We walked the few blocks to the harbour and had dinner at the Cactus Bay Cafe.

Along the way we passed an art class.

And enjoyed the beautiful harbour views.  The point on the right is the beginning of Stanley Park.

And our BST for the day.

On our return walk to the condo, Eric spent a few minutes convincing Mardi that we should all share a Chocolate Fondue at the Chocolate Bistro.
Which we did!

Another fine day with good friends!

Tomorrow, we leave Surrey and head to Seattle to see the Chihuly Glass Garden, before turning to the east and heading home.
