Another beautiful fall day, sullied by a golf game.
Thankfully, Matt had a birdie so we could drown our sorrows in birdie juice.
Be nice to each other. And stay well.

Headed to the greenhouse to do some more work on the Lilac garden. Digging out 4 to 6 inches of heavy clay and replacing it with 4 to 8 inches of top soil.

Mardi has been suffering with a head cold which started on the way home from Wisconsin (Covid test proved negative). That's probably why I'm beating her at Skip-Bo. Too soon to brag though.

Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. Al's response yesterday said it best. Thanks for being our friends!
Stay well.
Correction: We weren't on the road for 12 hours yesterday - just 11 hours and a time zone change. Still tired though and we both slept in this morning as a result.
Then I headed to the greenhouse. Very surprised at how much the fall colours have developed in the five days we were away! The escarpment looks great.
It's the end of the annuals season so David and I removed the baskets from the front and I stored the stands away until next year. Then started to work on the Lilac garden. It's been a bit of a mess for quite a while. We'll make it look good for next year.

Blue Jays season is over. They had an 8 - 1 lead and ended up losing the second game of the series 9 - 10 to Seattle. Better luck next year.
Stay well.
Happy birthday to Mardi's brother Steve. You're gaining on her Steve, now 95% as old as Mardi. All the best!

Not much to report tonight, after 12 hours on the road. It rained for a couple of hours around Chicago (glad we changed our plans!) and again for an hour this side of Sarnia.
Tired but content.

Blue Jays apparently lost, but I'm too tired to care right now.
Stay well.
Today is Gabriella Lougheed's birthday, but I'm sure the shine has been taken off it by the recent health issues of her son Cristian. The young teenager has Lymphoma and is undergoing chemotherapy. Your thoughts and prayers would be welcome.

There is a second course here at Lake Geneva called The Brute, but it is currently closed for aeration. It's just as well. We certainly aren't up to two days in a row after yesterday's hill climbing. Next time perhaps.
Instead we decided to take a two hour boat tour on the Walworth.
The Grand Geneva Resort and Spa is an opulent, four diamond resort. Originally the Lake Geneva Playboy Club Hotel, it has its own airstrip, indoor and outdoor pools, ballroom and "Grand" ballroom. Quite the place!
The Holiday Inn Club buildings are separate and newer. Our unit is very nice, although as per their rebuild schedule it will be gutted and rebuilt next year. Every seven years they do this so that standards are maintained.
As owners of Holiday Inn Club timeshare we were able to golf today for half price - just $40 including cart. As you will see from the pictures that is a real bargain.
Our golf performance wasn't great, and the terrain was a challenge, but we had a terrific day with our new friends.

Headed to the Magpie Bar again. Blue Jays had lost the first game 4 - 5 and were half way through the second. Unfortunately, in Wisconsin there is no real interest in either the Jays or the Orioles - they're Chicago fans here, so they couldn't find a channel that covered the game. Blue Jays won the second, although neither game mattered. They had already secured the first Wildcard position. They'll play three playoff games against the Seattle Mariners in the Skydome starting Friday.

Life is good. Stay well.
