Crane Chicks

Today we played the Reserve at Orange Lake, using up the last of the vouchers that I bought after our timeshare presentation.

We're not going to talk scores 😖.

But I beat Mardi by a stroke and took a pretend $1 off her.

Matt and Maureen are hitting it a ton.  We all had a good day.

And you will remember that I said we'd see some Sandhill Crane chicks in March.

This couple had two chicks.  We stayed a fair distance away so as not to worry them so the zoom photo is not too clear.

--------------------------------------------

Tomorrow is a massage day for the ladies.  I doubt that they will provide pictures though.

They do need help of some kind because Matt and I have been crushing them at Skip-Bo (I probably jinxed us with that bit of bragging).

Stay well.

Miller's

A quiet day as we recovered from the golf.  The ladies did a bit of shopping.

The highlight was a dinner visit to Miller's for the Monday special - $14.99 for a full rack of ribs.  Matt's favourite.

Then to Walmart to replenish the liquor supply.

Tomorrow it's back to golf.
Stay well.

Deer Creek

Our adventure today was golf at Deer Creek RV Golf Resort, which is an executive length course about two kilometres from the house.  It's a huge property with several "neighbourhoods", having everything from overnight rental spaces for trailers and RVs to quite impressive manufactured homes.

The golf course, which is just over 3,000 yards, is quite pretty and challenging.

...with surprisingly wide fairways, and nice brick pathways.

I started my round with a "Kopysh" (green in regulation and three putts), a feat that I repeated one more time.  I also tied Mardi on score, but still lost $3.  It was a nice day (even though it was really hot) and we'll be back to that course again.

We all jumped in the pool upon our return.......

..........and I swear - I did not knock Mardi out with that noodle.

--------------------------------------------

Tonight the folks let me win at the dice game.

Stay well.

Winter Garden

We booked tickets for today at the theatre in Winter Garden.  Our first time in the historic downtown.

It reminded us of Niagara-On-The-Lake, a total tourist district with   a lot of eating spots.

Old factories turned into restaurants and stores.

The show we saw was a tribute to Rock and Roll.

The songs were pieced together to make a love story.  Great music, good actors with awesome voices, and comedy thrown in to complete the experience.  They did a fantastic job!

There was a farmer's market underway when we arrived but we didn't have time to enjoy it.  We'll be back.

-------------------------------------------

Nothing else to report.

Stay well.

No News

Gary doesn't want pool pictures in the blog today, so we have nothing to report.

Keep shoveling!

And stay well.

Moving Day

We finished packing the van this morning and headed over to the Davenport house.  After we unloaded the van we joined Maureen and Matt in the pool (as you can see, he was delighted to see us).

 My white "socks" were admired.

Then we were treated to dinner by Chef Mateo.  Treated like guests instead of co-conspirators.

Games of dice and Skip-Bo completed our day.

Stay well.

We said our goodbyes to Sue and Ewen at the Sanford Airport this morning as they head back to the frozen north.

But we have subsequently learned that they may still be at the airport.  The flight was to originally take off at 10:55, but has been delayed a few times.  As I publish this at 8:03 p.m. I haven't heard if they have made it back to Canada.

Nevertheless, we are now on our own for 24 hours.  We have started packing for the move to the rental house to join Maureen and Matt.

But first, a game of golf on the Reserve.  We played with Doug, from St. John's, Newfoundland.

A nice day, despite the scores.

My swing is slowly coming around, but not soon enough to beat Mardi.  I'm out three pretend dollars after today's round.

-----------------------------------------

The twins still had one day left on their Play Pass, so Mardi and I headed over to River Island and gave the passes to a family with two young girls.  They appreciated it.

-----------------------------------------

Learned something new today.  We've all heard of Amber Alerts, and down here Silver Alerts are pretty common.  But today we saw a Purple Alert.  Apparently, it's when somebody who is mentally unstable goes missing.

-----------------------------------------

Heading to bed early.  Stay well.
