Pianos

 Today being Sunday, we headed over to Orange Lake for dinner and the dueling pianos.  Pete's regular partner, Ted, had a mother emergency, so Mark filled in.  He's the guy waving.

Mark is the better of the two guys we saw at Margaritaville.  And he told us that he took an opera major in college - that explains his good voice.

It got some dancers up.

By the way, seeing Matt on the dance floor is an event!  Well done Maureen!

And others joined in, including members of this family from Renfrew, Ontario.

And our own ladies.

Another fun night - until Matt and I lost at cards.

Winter Garden

 Today's excursion took us to Winter Garden.

First off, we spent a couple of hours at the farmers/crafters market in the old downtown.

We also had lunch there.  My choice was Goat milk pizza with mushrooms and pecans.  Very tasty!

Dessert was ice cream.

We bought single scoops, but for some reason they gave us each three scoops - want us to come back I guess.

Then, the feature of the day.

This is our second year enjoying a musical at this theatre.  And once again we were not disappointed.  Tremendous voices, with some comedy thrown in.   Great show!

Golf

 Today's event was golf at Deer Creek, a par 60 course connected to a local RV community.  Nice course, hot day (32C) and very humid.

My 80 score beat Mardi, and I was playing from tees that were 138 yards longer!  

Two more of these spring training games and I'll be ready for Cambridge and Chippewa!

We were serenaded all day by Florida's State Bird, the Mocking Bird, both on the course and in our backyard.  They've got more songs than Taylor Swift!

To complete the day, Matt and I crushed the ladies at Skip-Bo.  Maybe there is a God 😇.

Disney Springs

 A few words to clarify/explain/whine about yesterday's card game loss.  For several days, Matt and I had been leading, but in the final hand we were narrowly defeated.

Our excuse is that over the course of the game the ladies got over 50 more wild cards than we did.  Not fair!

Tonight being Thursday, Mardi and I headed to Disney Springs to see Jeff Howell.

Mardi photo-bombed an Iowa group picture.

Fortunately, Disney doesn't allow guns, so she survived.

Once again, Jeremy remembered that I drank Yeungling and Mardi drank Ultra.   Not only that, but when he saw Mardi and me removing beer tabs he brought us a handful.  Elizabeth (our neighbour in the Shoreliner who we collect for) -  that next wheelchair won't be long coming.

Jeremy and his partner, Tiffany, serve the whole House of Blues patio.  They are just about the best that I've seen!  Never stop moving.

On the way home, we got to enjoy some of Disney's fireworks.

All in all, another fine night!

Miller's

 Today's blog is primarily for the benefit of Kathy and Lorrie Gruhl, who will arrive in Kissimmee on March 18th.

We headed to Miller's for dinner tonight.  Were told that the wait for a table would be 35 minutes.

But, they always exaggerate - we were seated within 20 minutes.

March Madness is the current theme.

But even the regular menu is just fine.

Those rack of ribs plates are only $15.99 on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Mardi's Zingers and Fries $12.98, only on Monday.

Maureen's chicken quesadilla was $12.99, every day.

And they have a six ounce ribeye with shrimp for $16.99, every day.

Just a caution - we have been to other Miller's and they haven't measured up to this one on Irlo Bronson (Highway 192).  Enjoy.

Duels

 Sorry about the delay for yesterday's blog.  My charging cable wasn't properly plugged in, the computer went dark, and so it goes.

We had a mostly wet day, with a brief rainbow in the afternoon.

We spent most of the afternoon playing cards.  Surprisingly, Matt and I mostly stayed competitive.

Last night we enjoyed the dueling pianos once again.

They were so good that the old codgers got up to dance, and then more people joined in.

However, my lady found a younger, bigger, stronger partner.

Sheldon and wife Kerry are Kentuckians who were here with daughter Sedona (Sedona, Arizona is where they got married) and another couple to celebrate his acceptance into the National Guard.  Nice people (thank God!).

Carol sent me a video that talks about the factors that contribute to longer life.  The most important are not things like giving up smoking or drinking, but social integration and strong relationships.  That's my excuse for continuing the blog folks.  I intend to be here for a long time yet.
