Moving Day

The excitement today was packing up the van and moving from Orange Lake to the Davenport house to join Maureen and Matt.   That was all completed by about 11 a.m.

Then it was games time.  Matt won both Farkle dice games on the afternoon.

After dinner it was Skip-Bo time.  For those of you who know the game, visualize that I was trying to get to the 5 on top of my partner Matt's pile when I picked up this hand.

And, on my next turn another 5!

We managed to eke out a slim victory on this hand, but got totally gob smacked by the ladies on the next one.

Hopefully, tomorrow will be better.

Stay well.

The Wharf

We delivered Pat and Carol to the airport this morning.  Unfortunately, we didn't check their pockets before they left and they took the sunshine with them.  I thought that they were nice ladies - oh well!  Rain in the forecast for most of the next week.

On the way back home we stopped at The Wharf in Margaritaville.  It's a bit of a misnomer - no water in sight unless they're watering the fake grass.

The Wharf is a seafood restaurant and we made a reservation for dinner tonight followed by the dueling pianos.

-----------------------------------------------
It was recommended that we book dinner for 8 p.m. - the pianos were supposed to start at 9.  But, we had to deal with two sets of Mud Rooster first.

The food was good, but the noise was loud!

The dueling pianos didn't get going until about 9:45.  They had an elaborate setup and were decent musicians.
But, they were definitely different.  And I think it has to do with the audience.
At the Wharf it was late night and a younger, more raucous crowd.  The guys who appear at Orange Lake are dealing with a family atmosphere and have a smoother playlist (which we old farts enjoyed better).
--------------------------------------------
And, that pretty well does it for our stay at Orange Lake.  We check out in the morning and head to Davenport to join Maureen and Matt.  We'll return for the pianos on Sunday nights though.

Stay dry and well.
